Conversion Calculator
Convert between common units of length, weight, volume, and temperature.
In a globalized world, dealing with different units of measurement is a daily necessity. Whether you are following a recipe that uses grams instead of cups, traveling to a country that drives in kilometers, or working on a science project requiring Kelvin, our Unit Converter is your all-in-one tool. Instantly toggle between Metric and Imperial systems for length, weight, volume, and temperature with high-precision accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Tale of Two Systems
The world primarily uses the Metric System (SI), known for its base-10 simplicity (1000m = 1km). The US uses the Imperial System (12 inches = 1 foot, 5280 feet = 1 mile).
Why It Matters
Conversion errors can be catastrophic. In 1999, NASA's Mars Climate Orbiter disintegrated in the Martian atmosphere because one team used English units (pound-seconds) while another used Metric units (newton-seconds).
Temperature Tricks
- Celsius (Centigrade): Water freezes at 0° and boils at 100°.
- Fahrenheit: Water freezes at 32° and boils at 212°.
- Kelvin: The scientific standard. It has no negative numbers because 0K is "Absolute Zero".
Volume vs. Weight
Don't confuse "Ounces" (weight) with "Fluid Ounces" (volume). 16 fluid ounces of water fills exactly 1 pint, and weighs exactly 1 pound. But 16 fl oz of honey weighs much more than a pound because honey is denser!
