Time is the invisible dimension that governs every aspect of our lives. Whether you're calculating a project deadline in weeks, measuring a millisecond-fast response in a server, or planning for the next leap year, our Time Converter provides instant, accurate translations across the spectrum of chronology.
Time Converter
Convert time converter instantly.
A Time Converter is a mathematical tool that bridges different scales of measurement. In physics, time is the relative fourth dimension; in daily life, it's a series of standardized blocks. This tool uses the SI second as the base anchor for all calculations.
Short Scales
Milliseconds and seconds are the DNA of computing, physics, and athletics.
Long Scales
Weeks, months, and years help us manage history, finance, and logistics.
- Input the duration you want to convert.
- Choose the source unit (e.g., "Weeks").
- View the breakdown from milliseconds to years instantly.
The Leap Year Correction
Without Leap Years, our calendar would drift by about 0.25 days every year. Over 100 years, the seasons would occur about 25 days later than they do now. This converter accounts for this drift by using a weighted average for "Month" (30.44 days) and "Year" (365.25 days).
Relativity Note
In Einstein's Special Relativity, time is not absolute—it slows down for objects moving near the speed of light. While this converter assumes a classical frame, GPS satellites have to account for these tiny time differences every day!
The Complexity of a "Year"
While a minute is always 60 seconds, a year is technically 365.2422 days (the tropical year). We use 365.25 days as the standard for long-term average conversions to account for the Leap Year cycle.

How many seconds are in a day?
There are exactly 86,400 seconds in a standard 24-hour day (24 × 60 × 60).
Why 60 minutes in an hour?
The division of time into units of 60 dates back to the ancient Sumerians, as 60 is a "highly composite number" with many divisors.
What is a Millisecond?
One thousandth of a second. The blink of an eye takes about 100 to 400 milliseconds.
How long is a year in hours?
There are 8,760 hours in a 365-day year. Including the leap day average, it is 8,766 hours.
Calculations are based on the Gregorian calendar standard. We use the Julian year average of 365.25 days for maximum precision in long-term unit conversions.
