1. Biological vs. Chronological Age
Your chronological age is fixed, but your Biological Age measures how well your body is functioning compared to the average person of your years. Factors like telomere length and lifestyle can make your "body age" significantly higher or lower.
Strategic Insight: If you are calculating for retirement or insurance, focus on increasing the gap between these two. A lower biological age can effectively "buy" you more years of productivity and wealth-building than your birthday suggests.
2. The "Leapling" Problem (Feb 29 Babies)
For those born on February 29th, the legal definition of "turning a year older" varies by jurisdiction. In the UK and Hong Kong, a leapling turns a year older on March 1st in non-leap years. In Taiwan, they legally turn a year older on Feb 28th.

The Leap Year Algorithm
To maintain accuracy over decades, we apply the 97/400 rule:
- Year is divisible by 4.
- If divisible by 100, it must also be divisible by 400.
Our algorithm iterates through the calendar, subtracting days from the target date and borrowing from the previous month’s specific day count when the day difference is negative.
